Developed in the United States, this clear, self-supporting elevator is NuVa. The walls of the structure are made of curved sheets of polycarbonate in modular sizes that fit together easily. The doors are made of the same material. They are airtight and secured with safety magnetic locks. The cabin that travels inside the tube is made of transparent polycarbonate and is mounted on a steel structure. On the roof of the cabin, there is an air tight seal that maintains the vacuum above the cabin while assuring normal pressure and air conditions for the passenger. An anchoring system that activates on reaching the indicated floor mechanically locks the cabin at precise stops.

The suction assembly that powers NuVa can be assembled in two different ways, either above the same tube that holds the cabin (NuVa One) or separately at distances no longer than 10m (NuVa OneS). In all cases, the motor is monophase.

What is Polycarbonate?
The so-called 'transparent steel',is more easily formed than glass yet more resistant to impact. Furthermore, polycarbonate is more flame-resistant than acrylic and does not release toxic polyvinyl chloride gases if burned.

• Polycarbonate is over 200 times stronger than similar thickness glass and 30 times stronger than acrylic. Able to withstand impacts of more than 274,5N•m(28kgf•m), it can be struck with a hammer without breaking. Whether standing up against balls or rocks, even earthquakes, polycarbonate will not shatter like glass.
• Polycarbonate is a flame-resistant insulator. Furthermore, unlike other plastics, it does not release toxic gases even if burned.
• Temperature Condition - 40°C-125°

Safety
• Doors locks and sensors protect against improper use of the elevator
• In the event of loss of electricity, the elevator car returns slowly to the immediate floor, lowered safely by the vacuum above the cabin
• Standard earthquake braces help minimize the risk of injury and damage during an earthquake
• US patented technology protects passengers
